3D Deformation of an elastic beam
Overview. this 3D mechanical experiment displays an
uniaxial compression of an elasto-plastic body of 3x1x1 m. Shortening velocities
are applied on the right hand side. Initial mesh and boundary conditions
are shown here. Experiment duration is
1 s. Model parameters are defined in files
iessai
and jessai .
Results. The displacement field decays linearly from
the right to the left side. The stress field is rather homogeneous except
near the boundary conditions where both stress concentration and a stress free
zone occur due to DOF locking in the 3 directions (figure).
